Focus, innovation and growth reasons for Metaglas to split up into two companies
Metaglas, the leading Dutch family business, specialised in slim and innovative glass and metal constructions for façades and shipping, has split the company in two separate businesses. The goal is to optimise the business operations of the company. After a transition period, Mview+ BV will be the new and independent sister company.
Changing market demand, process optimisation and increased market focus has contributed to the decision to split the business operations of the company. "Our insulated aluminium façade and shipping solutions require a different positioning, product development and processes than our uninsulated tempered glass solutions. This is why we decided to make the distinction between these product types," Waldo Duin, owner/director of Metaglas, explains. "The time was right for a fresh impulse to allow both companies to grow."
Metaglas will focus all of its efforts on development, production and installation of aluminium systems for house construction and shipping, including aluminium windows, doors and sliding windows. Mview+ focuses on the development and production of glass constructions such as indoor glass walls, balcony glazing and tempered partitions that are also suitable for shipping. By splitting the company, they can both develop a clear strategy and vision to offer better services for customers now and in the future. Despite the split, both companies can easily combine products if so desired.
In addition to the split, Metaglas has created a special business unit for shipping: Metaglas Marine. This business unit is specialised in developing and producing unique and seaworthy products, including vertical sliding windows, specially for shipping. Quality, solidity and innovations are key, where all products function optimally on the water.
